  1. Compared against nothing is much weaker than compared against a convincing fake. People improve for all sorts of reasons that have nothing to do with the treatment.

  2. Twelve is a hint. Four hundred is evidence. Small studies are how you decide what to test next, not how you decide what to do.

  3. If they knew, the result moves. Not because anyone is dishonest, but because humans measure what they expect to find.

  4. Or a number on a lab report? A marker moving is interesting. A person sleeping through the night is the point.

  5. Results found afterwards are a hypothesis, not a finding. If you measure twenty things and report the one that worked, you have not discovered anything. You have described chance. Trial registrations exist so this can be checked, and you can check them yourself.
